Hymn Sing &
Closing Celebration
“With a voice of singing, declare ye this and let it be heard — Alleluia!”
One more afternoon of song, remembrance and thanksgiving.
For 137 years, Christ Lutheran Church has gathered around God’s Word and Sacraments. As that chapter comes to a close, friends of the congregation and the wider church are invited to fill the sanctuary once more with the hymns of the faith, give thanks for God’s mercy through the years, and share memories around the table afterward.
Come ready to sing.
Musicians from across the Cleveland area will join us for an afternoon meant to do exactly what a great hymn sing should do: raise the roof.
The Lutheran Wind Ensemble, singers from several Lutheran congregations, and organists will lead a program of beloved Lutheran chorales, choral music and organ works.

Stay after the music and join us at the table.
Following the hymn sing, everyone is invited to a free closing dinner. We’ll share memories, enjoy one another’s company, and recognize the retirement of the Rev. Dean Kavouras after 48 years of pastoral ministry.
There is no charge, and an RSVP is not required. We would appreciate one, however, simply so we can plan food as accurately as possible.
Join us on September 27.
Come sing with us, remember with us, and give thanks with us for 137 years of God’s blessing to Christ Lutheran Church.
