St. Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 1:25 “For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.” For a powerful example of this truth see this video about what the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) has discovered.

Atheists and agnostics of every stripe have called science to their side to prove that the Bible’s account of creation could not ever be right; and is nothing more than superstition and blind faith. However the JWST is taking them to school. Though this video still makes unfounded and unscientific claims as regards the age of the universe, it does show them that “the foolishness of God” is still wiser than men. And this being the case all people everywhere should read, and believe the opening verses of the Bible: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1)

When Moses writes the word “heavens” it takes in all that was once defined by, and limited by, the Hubble Telescope which was the final word of scientific truth. And then along came JWST! Which raises the question: What will JWST’s successor teach us? And, too, let us take in the implication of Moses’ words “heavens and the earth.” Namely this: that God in His Word contrasts all that “space” with what is a drop in ten thousand oceans, the earth! Our God-given home. The only one of which contains human life. Men made by God in His likeness and image. Yes, we are that special however much those who are “wise” wish to nominalize the people that God has made, and redeemed by the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ
